Sidney veteran, former POW, telling his story

Peninsula News Review - 2/20/2018

NORTH SAANICH — One of the last surviving veterans from the ill-fated raid on Dieppe during the Second World War will be the featured speaker at a Voices of Saanich event later this month.

Sidney resident Ken Curry survived the battle, only to be held as a prisoner of war by Germany for nearly three years.

Curry's experience was recounted by the local veteran in the Peninsula News Review's special Remembrance Day 2017 coverage.

He will be interviewed by newspaper columnist Gary Mason at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the McTavish Academy of Art on McTavish Road in North Saanich. Reserve your seat ($20) at texmc@shaw.ca.

This is the second in the Voices of Saanich speaker series, a program being held over five months at the Academy.
