Coroner IDs woman who burned in Lancaster County crash

A 49-year-old Shillington, Pa. woman died early Saturday as a result of a crash on Route 222 in Lancaster County.

Amy Freytiz died of traumatic injuries along with smoke inhalation and burns, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday morning. Authorities had to use dental records to identify her.

Police said Freytiz was driving south when her car collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer stopped on the side of the road. Her car caught fire and she was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2 a.m. accident.
