Military veteran job fair set for Thursday at Jacksonville's TIAA Bank Field

Florida Times-Union - 11/15/2021

Military veterans and their spouses seeking employment in the Jacksonville area can muster on Thursday for a four-hour job fair at TIAA Bank Field.

Organized by Disabled American Veterans and RecruitMilitary, the free hiring event is targeted at members of the military who are transitioning out of service as well as veterans, military spouses and dependents.

Set from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at TIAA Field East Club on the second level of the stadium, the Jacksonville Veterans Job Fair is the latest of 33 events hosted in recent years by RecruitMilitary in Jacksonville with men and women coming to speak about possible jobs with almost 1,300 exhibitors.

"Our driving purpose is to empower veterans to find meaningful work opportunities in the private sector," RecruitMilitary CEO Tim Best said. "We work with companies throughout the world that see tremendous value in the transferable skills that military-trained personnel bring to their organizations."

Thursday's event will offer the possibility of hundreds of jobs listed among about 60 companies, government groups and agencies such as General Dynamics Land Systems, Disabled American Veterans, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Postal Service, Duval County Public Schools and Gainesville Police.

Visitors are asked not to bring paper resumes, since organizers have a system in place to share interest and experience with exhibitors. Job-seekers are asked to complete a profile and upload their resume after registering with RecruitMilitary at success.recruitmilitary.com/jobs#signin.

Free parking will be available in Lot C, with the entrance at the East Club North Gate. For COVID-19 precautions, face masks are requested of all participants. For more information on the event, go to at bit.ly/3qvn9OQ.
